Rowan’s Story
Meet Rowan! In October 2023, Rowan started acting differently - throwing up, losing his balance and several other small signs that were abnormal for him. After several trips being dismissed from the pediatrician, his parents took him to the ER where the doctor quickly ordered a scan of his brain. After the scan, they were pulled into the hallway and could immediately see the concern on the doctor’s face. He told them that there was a large mass taking up the left side of Rowan’s brain and they were immediately transferred to the closest children’s hospital. This moment changed their world forever.
From that moment on, Rowan has spent most of his time inpatient. Within two weeks, he had two surgeries and started chemotherapy. It was determined that he had an extremely rare and aggressive tumor. Rowan has been through several rounds of some of the highest intensity chemotherapy children can receive, two stem cell transplants and radiation.
Rowan has dealt with so many side effects and complications - lung issues and oxygen issues among others but through it all, he has been STRONG & BRAVE. His oncologist has said that he has beaten so many records she’s never seen in all her years of doing this! May Rowan’s story inspire you to face your own challenges with strength and bravery!
